Walking Directions

  1. Start at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More, 3901 Cathedral Ln, Arlington, Va.

  2. Head northwest on N Glebe Rd.

  3. Cross right onto N Pershing Dr.

  4. Turn left onto N Oakland St.

  5. Turn right onto Wilson Blvd.

  6. At the fork with Clarendon Blvd, follow Clarendon Blvd.

  7. Turn left onto N Highland St.

  8. Turn right back onto Wilson Blvd.

  9. At the intersection with N Veitch St, keep on Wilson Blvd.

    • Note: Do not veer onto N Courthouse Rd.

  10. Turn left on N Nash St.

  11. Turn left on Fort Myer Dr.

    • Note: Cross onto the middle sidewalk.

  12. Pass through Gateway Park.

    • Note: Public restrooms are available here.

  13. Cross Langston Blvd and over the Key Bridge into Washington, DC.

  14. Turn right onto M St NW.

  15. Cross over Rock Creek.

  16. At the fork with New Hampshire Ave NW, stay on M St NW.

  17. At the fork with Rhode Island Ave NW, keep left onto Rhode Island Ave NW.

  18. Arrive at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, 1725 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC.


The vast majority of the route, which takes two (2) to three (3) hours, follows Wilson Blvd and M St NW, which feature wide sidewalks and plenty of public restrooms along the way, including at Gateway Park and Whole Foods. The view of the Potomac River over the Key Bridge is stunning.
